Update of the 22nd Asia Area Convention 2007
Warm welcome to Bangkok city, the
venue of the 22nd Asia Area Convention from 10th – 12th
August 2007.
The HCC’s of Bangkok Convention is pleased to advise of
the following 10 major points and information to all of the
delegates and the members of the AEOs and the Asia Area Office
for their planning of the incoming attending the AAC’s
2007.
1. Participants:
We are expecting 350-400 members. The current registration with
the final reconfirmation by the end of June could be accountable
up to 300 members. We are waiting for more registration from
now on and also at sight on the 10th of August, 2007.
2. Language:
The Official Language will be conducted in English. The translation
into Japanese, Korean and Chinese will be arranged on the certain
venue to facilitate the important message.
3. Arrival /Departure and
Flight Confirmation:
All delegates are requested to arrive if possible on the 10th
of August morning and have the first registration opened up
at 09.00 hrs at the Montien Riverside Hotel. Please look up
for the direction. You would need to fix the flight plan from
your destination now. For those who wish to attend the ACM meeting
at 08:00 – 12:00 on the 10th of August should arrive on
the 9th evening. All of the IEOs planning to attend the ICM
in Adelaide should now book Singapore Flight to depart on the
9th morning and to arrive Bangkok on the 21:00 hrs in Bangkok
for the pick-up.
The Open Ceremony will start at
15.00 hrs on the 10th of August.
The Closing Ceremony will end at 12.30 hrs on the 12th of August.
The HCC will advise more details
in the Official Program Book.
All of the delegates are requested to send into the HCC’s
of your flight schedules or itinerary in case you would like
the HCC’s Logistic and the Transportation to help out
with the pick-up and etc.
For your information the traveling
time from Bangkok International Airport, Suwannabhum to Montien
Riveside and other hotels down town would be confined to 45
minutes to one hour.
4. Meeting Point:
The HCC’s Logistic and Transportation will display the
Poster of the 22nd Asia Area Convention to all of the delegates
from each flight-which would need your reconfirmation of the
flight number and etc. so that the TEAM can meet at the EXIT
of each flight.

It is essential
to advise the place to stay during the attending of the
AAC’s 2007. For those who are registered to stay
at the Montien Riverside Hotel, please confirm your arrival
date and the departure date for us to reconfirm with the
Montien Riverside hotel.
HCC would like to recommend
the Montien Riverside as the preferred venue and place
to lodging. Now you can book others as well if you prefer
something more to meet your budget like- Narai Hotel under
the Voucher’s with YMCA and only on Cash. Bangkok
Christian Guest House on Silom Rd., is another good option
for simple and clean. |
6. Passport & Visa Requirements:
It is essential to review with your Travel Agents of the requirement
of the Visa to enter Thailand from your country. Please do not
take it for granted to do the Visa on the Arrival which could
be a time consuming and so many complication and etc. Please
apply for your Visa now and if your Passport is not valid, please
renew them within this week.
7. Preparation for the Cultural
Show:
It is our Asia Area Convention’s tradition to promote
each Country and Regions of the Cross-Cultural understanding
and awareness. Please prepare with your own Region and Club
to put up the utmost exciting shows to all of the members of
the Y’s Men in any performance such as Group Singing,
Dancing and any Cultural Show that would be a good memorable
to your friends. Bring your own country flag, tapes or CDs and
others musical instruments to show.
8. Personal items:
You may want to bring your own medications, soap and powder
and whatever you would like to make your trip more comfortable.
Please do not forget to bring them. Now if you wish to carry
on the plane, then please do not bring any cream or perfume
or liquid more than 100 grams on the flight.
9. Weather & Clothing:
August is the wet season in Bangkok. Please bring umbrella –a
handle one. The average temperature is around 32-36 degree C.
You can bring your shorts and simple for the outdoor tour. As
for the main function you can be dressed up at the fully air-conditional
room. Smart Clothing would be recommended. You can also buy
the 22nd Asia Area Convention’s shirt as well when you
arrived and registered.!!!!
10. Medical Facilities:
Please do bring your own personal medicament. You should also
review your Medical insurance prior to the departure and please
bring with you a copy of your certification. HCC will provide
the basic medical attention during the Convention with nurses.
However each participant would need to care for his or her own
physical conditions. We have stand-by the Bangkok Christian
Hospital and Bangkok Hospital to back up in case of serious
attention needed.
