1. Participants
1.1) We anticipate 40 participants.
2. Language
2.1) The official language will be English. All documents will
be in English.
3. Arrival/Departure and Flight Reconfirmations
3.1) all participants are requested to arrive on Tuesday August
7, 2007 and spend one night at Y.M.C.A. International Hotel
Chiangrai. On Wednesday morning August 8, 2007 they will continue
their trip by bus to Phayao Center.
3.2) The most important will be the return trip from Chiangrai
to Bangkok on Saturday August 11 which must be reserved at the
time of departing from Chiangrai Airport by TG1133 at 11:20
hrs in order to arrive in Bangkok by 12:40 hrs. This transport
arrangement includes picking-up the youth at Bangkok Don Muang
domestic Airport, check-in at Charlie House, transport to the
Montien Riverside Hotel for special evening events, and return
for overnight stay at Charlie House.
3.3) Participants have to inform us of their arrival details:
flight number, date and arrival time in advance not later then
July 10th. Reception teams will meet participants at Chiangrai
Airport.
4. Meeting Point
4.1) A reception team displaying the poster of the 22nd Asia
Youth Convocation will meet participants on arrival at Chiangrai
International Airport. If you can not find the reception team,
please wait at the Information Counter.
5.Accommodation and food at Phayao center
5.1) Participants will stay at Phayao Center during August 8-10.
Ten persons will share a dormitory and room arrangements will
be made according to gender Delicious Thai food with a good
balance of the nutrition will be provided at Phayao center
6. Passport & Visa Requirements
6.1 Participants must be in possession of a valid passport &
other travel documents. Participants are advised to obtain a
visa in advance form the Thai embassy or consulate in their
country prior to travel to Thailand.
7. Preparation for Cultural Exchange
7.1) To promote cross-culture understanding, participants are
requested to bring in information about their own countries
such as pictures, folk music, traditional clothes, arts, musical
instruments, etc.
7.2) These are also needed for your performance on cultural
night. Please note that each country is asked to do a 10-minute
presentation on their country. We request that each country
prepare their performance or demonstrate a folk dance or song
for the cultural night. In addition we would like to ask you
to bring:
-National Flag
-Post card or photo of your culture country for exhibition
-Tape/ C.D.
-Any other items to introduce your culture and nation.
8. Personal items
8.1) Towels, soap, tooth brush and toothpaste, personal medicine,
mosquito repellant or powder to be used during field work and
planting in the rice field with Y.M.C.A. Phayao students. Some
small tokens or gifts to exchange with your friends.
9. Weather& clothes to Bring
9.1) The average temperature in Thailand is between 32C. to
36C. The weather will be hot and humid with some moderate rain
falls.
9.2) The participants are requested to bring causal smart clothing
for meetings and workshops and also some causal clothing such
as pants, long sleeve shirt or T-shirt and tennis shoes for
working and doing activities out doors along with sun protection
items such as: cap, hat, sunblock, and sunglasses. Traditional
clothing of formal wear is requested for cultural night and
the farewell.
10. Medical Facilities
10.1) Participants are required to take care of his/her own
physical condition.Phayao Center will provide nurses during
working hours. If any emergency medical care services are available
24 hours at nearby hospital and clinic.
11. Expenses
11.1) Registration fees before 30 April, 2007 is $225 US per
person after 30 April, 2007 the cost is $260 US perperson.
11.2) Bring pocket money for travel.
11.3) Expenses for extra stay at your own expense.
11.4) Traveling insurance borne by participant.
11.5) All airfare will be borne by the participant or the nominating
agencies.
11.6) Expenses before or after the convocation will be borne
by each participant. We will help you with all arrangements
if required.
11.7) All other expenses incurred such as telephone charges,
internet etc. will be borne by each participant.
11.8) We will not be responsible for any expenses incurred through
accidents, hospitalization and loss of or damage to belongings,
nor for any form of compensation in the event of death, disability
or injury to any participant.
11.9) We strongly request all participants to be insured with
Medical and Health Insurance and please bring along a copy of
certificate.
