This particular project has been implemented for three years with
the support of Everychild, London. Basic activities involving the
support of young Thai children age 5-12 years old, both from the lowlands
and the hill tribes in the northern region. This comes in the form
of educational and nutritional support to 300 children in 33 villages
within 9 tambons in Phayao and Chiangrai Provinces. The activities
include the monitoring of these children through visits to their families,
educational support and health care funds to families in need, organizing
dental health check-ups, conducting training programs on livelihood
support for parents of children scholars to serve as supplemental
income, conducting camps to promote life skills for 289 children scholars
to enable them to know about conservation of natural resources, health
and sanitation for children, organizing a field trip for children
to Chiangmai Zoo, holding camp on children's Rights and coastal environmental
study, celebrating Christmas day and giving each child his presents,
setting up of parents group to provide assistance to one another through
savings activities, and providing loans and food processing through
grouping.
